Fairy Tales in Reading Comprehension

  The purpose of this research is to assist students through the use of fairy tales to develop reading comprehension skills. Stories should be used to meet the learning needs of students and in turn improve their understanding and the environment within the English class, that is, students feel motivated to participate in activities. In addition, this research aims to analyze the impact and effectiveness of applying the stories when developing reading comprehension. For this reason, it is necessary to implement these activities that would be of great importance to improve the reading skill of the students. These activities will also facilitate the learning of the students of the institution in which the investigation will be applied. Students will be exposed to material that attracts a lot of attention, thus awakening their interest to discover new things.  Mental Model Theory This theory is based on the idea that a reader constructs a mental model or mental imagery of the circumstances that they are reading about. This is particularly the case when people read fiction. This construction of a mental model then assists the reader in their comprehension of the text. Imagery:  Imagery is language used by poets, novelists and other writers to create images in the mind of the reader. Imagery includes figurative  and metaphorical language to improve the reader’s experience through their senses.

 VI: Fairy Tales Literary Composition. Literary composition refers to any piece of written material. Literary composers and creative writers often write for business, academic and artistic outlets. Literary compositions are classified in literary genres. Literary Genres. A literary genre is a category of literary composition. Genres may be determined by literary technique, tone, content, or even (as in the case of fiction) length. The Literary Genres are: Drama, Fiction, Nonfiction and Poetry. These literary genres are divided in to literary subgenres. Literary Subgenres. The commedy and tragedy are inside the Drama genre. In the Nonfiction genre, the biography, autobiography, narrative, periodicals and reference are involved. Lyric, narrative and dramatic belong to genre of Poetry.
